Repair Moen Shower Faucet Single Handle

Moen Shower Faucet Parts

Moen Shower Faucet – If you have a single-handle bath or Moen shower faucet and it escapes, there is a method to repair it. It involves removing and changing the cartridge inside the head of the tap. This will take about half an hour; no specialized knowledge is required. Be sure to use the proper Moen cartridge for your model.

Turn off the water in the shower. Access the valves in the wall through the opening of the panel behind the shower wall, or close the water inlet valve of the house in the water pipe. Lift the small plastic tab on the top of the handle and remove the small screw in the center of the handle under it with an Allen wrench. Some Moen faucets have a lever with the screw under the lever near the base. Simply delete this; there is no file to take off. Pry out the ring hook around the head of the wrench with pliers or remove the dome and the nut cartridge with pliers, if the faucet does not have a clip. Pull the free cartridge from the tap head.

Slide the new cartridge by aligning it with the tap head and pushing it. Use only one cartridge designed for your model. Slide the clip over the tap head or tighten the cartridge nut to hold it in place. Position the handle and tighten the screw. If you want to replace the handle, you put on a new, matching Moen tap handle to update the appliance. Turn on the water again.
